I founded Doughty Designs in 1991 and have been creating commissioned work ever since. My work is in the collection of the John Wilson Building (City Hall) in Washington, DC, several public art projects in various states, and in Japan. I am chairman emeritus of Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery at the Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, Virginia. From 2002-06 I was the Studio Art Quilts Associates co-representative for Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and am now the Website Coordinator. I have taught and lectured on various aspects of quilting in several states, and written numerous articles about the genre for several national magazines.
