I have a fine art background and have always enjoyed creating pattern and imagery on cloth. In 2004 I was introduced to the Japanese art of katazome, and found the materials and processes to be profoundly inspiring. Since 2009 I have used these materials and techniques to explore my favorite subject matter, creating decorative, functional objects as well as unique textile art.
I also teach classes in katazome and related aspects of design at the Textile Center of Minnesota and through residential workshops. I show my work in the upper Midwest, and sell through fine craft galleries and shops as well as online.
