KnoxFarmFiber began in 2001 as a cooperative effort to promote the presence of fiber animals--sheep, llamas and Angora goats-- who lived at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora NY. Various volunteers--children, families, park workers, spinners, knitters, weavers--have supported activities such as sheep shearing, fiber processing, fiber classes, natural dyeing classes using Park plant materials, an on-site Gift Shop, spinning demonstrations, and--since 2005--an annual regional Fiber Festival. All proceeds were shared with the animal care fund.
Then in December of 2010 the Park closed for budgetary and other reasons. The animals were adopted into private farms.
KnoxFarmFiber is now owned by me--Judith Bunn--a yarn-maker. I still have several seasons of fiber from the Park animals to spin and dye. I also spin the wool from sheep with names who live locally or further whose care is loving and whose fiber is organic. I hope you enjoy working with this yarn.

The yarns are just the best that I ever used. I made bookmarks and postcards from these and love the colors and the feel of the fiber. I highly recommend that you try these. It was a pleasure communicating with Judith about my order and she was on vacation!
Thanks for the wonderful article on wool. One more plus of working with wool: it's eco-friendly and completely sustainable. Sheep are shorn regularly --and without harm--giving us spinners, dyers, weavers, felters, knitters a constant and delightful natural resource for our work.
I have used KnoxFarmFiber hand spun wool and love the luxurious feel of the fibers. They were incorporated into my post cards and book mark toppers. In doing business with them, we have become on-line friends. I love them and will go back for more!

I found Judith's shop through the TAFA site, and the first thing I did was order some corespun handspun yarn...just the most luxurious beautiful fiber I have ever had the pleasure to feel. Her service was excellent, too, and I got my package, all the way in Germany, in record time. Judith is personable, and I can tell she is absolutely passionate about her work--and the love shows.
