Helene Davis became interested in Quilting after her Mother-in-Law quilted a window seat cover for her new house in New Jersey. This led to working for a Quilt Shop and traditional quilts. After a visit to the Hall of Minerals at the Smithsonian, She began wondering if similar patterns as found in agate and other minerals could be produced in fabric. After a friend introduced her to low water immersion dyeing, she began dyeing fabric first for her own quilts (that began to have a definite art quilt flavor) and then to sell to others.
Bob Davis has always supported Helene's artistic efforts. First by helping sell her fabric and quilts, and by using a mangle to iron hundreds of yards of fabric. Bob also makes beautifully sophisticated ceramic beads that are used to embellish quilts and articles of personal adornment and wearable art.
