I like yo-yos.

What's a yo-yo? Cut a circle out of fabric. Turn the edge in a bit, stitching it with a running stitch as you go. When you get all the way around, pull the ends of the thread together. The edge will scrunch up. Flatten it out. Make hundreds of them and you can join them together to make a traditional spread.

Or, make something completely new, like this puffy textile. The puffs are stuffed with polyform, each decorated with a yo-yo in the middle and french knots around the center. Sea urchin spikes decorate the border, all the way around.

I made this as a textile that would lay flat on a surface. If you want it to hang on a wall, I can add a support for it on the back. The piece is completely hand sewn. The last photo shows the back, bright pinks! Use the zoom option to see larger images.

I love all the variations of greens, the texture and dimensions. It's a garden delight that also calls to the sea.
