Inspired by the quilts of Gee's Bend, I made this improvisational modern lap quilt using upcycled linen in red and off-white with dashes of green and a bit of brown cotton.
The front of the quilt is a quirky variation on a traditional log cabin block. The back of the quilt is just as interesting as the front with bars of bold brown and white polka dot in various sizes and a strip of improvisational piecing that mimics the front of the quilt.
You can see more about the process of making this quilt on my blog: http://onthedesignwall.blogspot.com/2011/01/in-progress-improvisational-split-log.html
Quilt top is 100% linen and 100% cotton.
Quilt batting is heirloom quality 80/20 cotton/poly.
Quilt backing is 100% linen and 100% cotton.
This quilt is made to be loved and can be gently machine washed and dried. Unless otherwise noted, all Peppermint Pinwheels quilts are washed after completion with a gentle, scent free detergent so they come to you fresh and clean!
