The imagery on this 14 x 72 inch long Habotai silk scarf reflects several layers of pattern. First there are the loose calligraphic lines (“arashi”) which suggests a river, then there is the darkening sky (perhaps) in ombre with stars or planets - all aspects of shibori.

It was hand dyed in indigo after each manipulation numerous times to create the translucent layers and hue depth.

Care: dry clean or hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, but a rinsing will suffice. An optional pressing on a silk or low setting is recommended.
