This hat started it's life as a placemat! The brim of this hat is a circular straw placemat from my local thrift store. The crown is a lace remnant, vinyl gutter guard supplies structural support on the inside. This hat is tricked out with clock parts, an antique button and a wooden bow that curls down the back. The only new material on this hat is the fleur-de-lis fabric ribbon. This hat is a fascinator, meant to be worn perched jauntily over one eye, and secured with a hat pin into a bun (or a wig).
