My arts and crafts career began with a blue ribbon that I won for a dress that I sewed when I was in the fourth grade and progressed to a large, complicated appliquéd apple blossom quilt that I made for my grandmother when I was in high school. With college art courses, many classes with well-known artists, and years of work, my first sewing and quilting projects have “blossomed” into working in 25 different arts and crafts mediums, teaching classes, and selling artwork in a number of stores, boutiques, and galleries including my own gallery in Paducah, Kentucky. My love of color and experimenting with new techniques has led to working in shibori, batik, dyeing, marbling, fabric painting, quilting, beading, crocheting, knitting, rug making, jewelry, painting, stained glass, mixed media collages, and encaustic.
