I received my formal art training at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. My focus was studio art with a concentration in painting. After graduation I made my living as a custom clothier while pursuing my own artwork as a mixed media collage artist.
Twenty years later my love of textiles and collage work crossed paths. Since then I have worked almost exclusively with fiber. I have also worked as an art teacher, interior designer and as an art columnist for a daily newspaper. Both my fine and wearable art have been exhibited in shops and galleries throughout the country. I am also the author of the recently released book “Fabric Surface Design” published by Storey Publishing. I live in Western, MA with her husband, 2 sons, 2 dogs, an ornery cat named Julian and an assortment of wild animals that pass through her woods.
What I love most about my profession are the long solitary hours in the studio as well the time I spend in the classroom sharing and growing with my students. Over the years I have come to understand that both of these occupations are essential to who I am as a person and as an artist.
