I make art quilts that celebrate the beauty of the urban landscape. Inspired by my own photos of city streets, I look for interlocking shapes, the rhythmic patterning of doors and windows, and intriguing perspectives. I distill the photo into a drawing, a skeleton of shape and line, and then stitch the line onto a collage of hand-dyed cotton. I use the expressive potential of colour to create visual excitement.

A graduate in Fine Arts, I have furthered my education through travel, teaching, reading, workshops, and looking at art of all kinds. My lifelong interest in cloth as a medium led me to traditional quilting, which quickly evolved into an expression of my own visual ideas.

I am a Juried Artist Member of Studio Art Quilt Associates. I am on the executive of my local art organization, the Hudson Artists, and I am part of a core group of local fibre artists, among several other regional artist groups. I manage a local art showcase, and I exhibit actively in both solo and group shows.

Much of the work on my website is available for sale and I would be pleased to discuss commissions.
