As a handweaver and dyer, the integrity of the cloth has always been the focus of my work. I have been creating unique handwoven and dyed garments and accessories for most of my weaving career. Over the past ten years I have ventured into the surface design world to enhance the my handwoven cloth. I now create handwoven silk kimono style garments that can either be worn or displayed on the wall.
All of my work is for sale and I do take commissions.
My career began as a spinner and I received my Master Spinner designation from the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners in 1983. I then proceeded to learn how to weave and dye In the year 2000 I graduated with High Honours in Dressmaking from Seneca College, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
My work has won me awards in national and international shows including being a finalist (twice) in the NICHE awards. I continually take workshops in surface design to advance my knowledge of this art form. All of my work is produced exclusively by myself in my home studio.
