This handwoven alpaca throw comes to us from Threads of Peru, a not-for-profit social enterprise. Its mission is to connect the world to handmade treasures of the Andes, helping to strengthen ancient craft techniques and empower artisans.
For a truly amazing alpaca throw blanket, look no further than the Inca Alpaca Throw from Threads of Peru! Three natural color choices available, all with the intricate decorative border.
Woven in 100% natural alpaca, these throws are sumptuously soft. Alpaca fleece is much warmer than standard wool, and when wrapped in this gorgeous throw blanket, you will be very warm. Additionally, alpaca fibre is hypoallergenic and sustainably sourced from free-ranging herds in the high Andes of Peru.
The Inca Alpaca Throw is characterised for its design, which is known locally as pica pica (Inca Stairs or Inca Pathways). This design is included in this weaving because it pays tribute to the Inca constructions, such as roads and bridges in the District of Ollantaytambo. Inca roads were the most significant architectural works because they allowed good communication between communities.
The Inca Alpaca Throw was made in the high Andean of community of Chaullacocha at an altitude of over 4, 300 metres (14,100 feet) by an indigenous Quechua weaver.

The materials in this change purse are 100% natural – locally sourced sheep’s wool, hand-spun on a drop-spindle, and dyed with natural dyes. This product is finished with cotton lining and a zipper closure.
